スバル、運営側に回っても仕事できそう…。なぜホロにスバルが採用されたのかが良く分かる…
While Japanese may be useful for communicating with people, the war criminal rabbit proved it isnt necessary.
What I think about the "multi-talented" thing
Gura – They were probably very impressed by how she already had this as her job, and she can sing really cute (sometimes also doing karaoke with her ukelele) mostly singing western songs but doesn't have a problem singing japanese songs either despite not speaking the language
Calli – Impressively can sing whole different GENRES of songs like the application form specifically asks for (one might not realize the Hololive Alternative video is her simply because it's so different from what she's released before), and is a music producer herself first of all (rather than merely singing what you're given to sing), as such right off the bat she came out with her own original, she had someone else to mix it but she sung and made the movie by herself. (she has a stream BGM that if you pay attention is just a cut-out of her song. She's even done MV editing for others too)
Ina – Loves drawing more than anything and incorporated this onto her channel and has done official work for hololive with it, can sing, already could speak both languages and has collabbed with JP enough to hit on multiple other girls already
Kiara – Besides being good at singing she's strongly fluent in both english and japanese and is already serving as an unique interpreter for collabs with her own talk show that she has the personality to really pull off
Ame – You have to remember that back when holomyth were debuting, they had those little tag words for each one of them on the screen, and the ONLY ONE with "gamer" on it, at all, was Amelia. She might have come off to them as the most, uh, dedicated of the bunch when it comes to gaming especially with how she likes FPSs maybe more than any other hologirl second only to Botan, I'm even reminded of one tidbit where she said she was scared that they wouldn't like her because she said that while playing she might get angry and start cursing
I imagine JP more wants professionally singing/dancing idols under them who do not necessarily need to keep doing gaming streams but rather entertainment/chatting streams to interact with fans instead of simply streaming whatever just for the sake of having streamed at all (when Yagoo said Marine was the true idol I suspected it's because of how easily she will just sit down and softly have conversations back and forth with her chat about… pokemon games or stories of Ayame or DBZ or something while rocking in her chair), whereas EN maybe is specifically looking for need of entertainment as an own unique and dedicated professional streamer personality in general to stand out from any other VTuber that also sings and plays trendy games, with a bonus to being more involved in music or for speaking japanese, in addition to other hololive virtues including mandatorily singing.
"Hololive EN values professionalism".
Same energy of Todd Howard saying " it just works."
hey, does anyone think the same as me?
I'm afraid that in the future the hololive community will change like the anime community vilifying each other the anime they like, I worried that something like that will happen to our idols or members.
I hope it's just my bad habit to think like this. because in my opinion, many other large communities end up vilifying each other
Wait what was Watson's many talents? Mom jokes?
I like how Subaru has become the go to source for behind the scenes information haha
>Will not fall into a gen 1 or gen 2 category
>literally everyone including hololive members calling it gen 2
nice try lol
i mean gura and amelia can barely speak japanese so its definitely not a must
If they not going to genned them then how the 1 month restriction work? since they cannot collab outside of their gen mate, but since they won't have any gen to begin with, how the restriction going to get place?
"Hololive Japan is more focused on idols"
*Looks at Haachama
*Looks at Pekora
*Looks at 90% of JP members
…
Honestly we should be glad they're not trying to push the idol culture in EN. Idol culture is toxic asf and tbh I wish that it'd died in Japan, too.
I think they're trying to remove the word Idol on HololiveEN which is a good thing in my opinion.
So they really are setting things higher.
I'm glad Management aren't using the Generation system. The whole 'senpai/kouhai' thing is very japanese, but isn't used at all in the West, so I'm glad they aren't trying to force it. At the same time though, I'm sure they'll still do the one month restriction on collabs, and that's only going to cement them as EN gen 2 in the eyes of fans.
I feel like identifying the importance of being able to speak japanese in HoloEN should be as simple as looking at AmeSame
Subaruashi!!!!
man, I'm glad the Hololive management realizes what kind of youtube/twitch personalities are already successful and they're adapting to those existing audience, instead of trying to force holoEN to become idols. Not that I don't want to see Calli dancing on a stage, I'm just glad to see holoEN being managed smartly.
How about Holo ID
I take it that the requirement for HoloID is to be the abstract bridge of the utmost unplanned surprises.
かわいい&笑いだから面白いんだろうね。
歌、ダンス上手いとかいらない。可愛い声と笑いだ。
So Calli can do music, Ina can draw, i guess ame can game But what are gura and kiaras multi talents? (Not throwing shade. They are all great. I was just curious.)
確かにIDとJPは結構混在みたいな感じになっててENだけマイクラも鯖分けとか切り離されてると感じてたけどそういうことなのね!
EN神話組みんなすごいからなぁ……音楽も絵もトークもできる人がいる……
this is actually really interesting
Ready to jump in at any Holostars EN auditions lol
Subaru: I'm an idol
Me: doubt!
YAGOO: Idol … I mean Entertainment company
ぐらは音ゲーうまいしカリはラップが出来る。
キアラは日本語ペラペラで
アメちゃんは美少女!
イナは絵が描けるし澤はドリブルが上手い。
The multi talented part is the back of house stuff that is usually down by Cover staff or fans like thumbnails, animations, merch designs, etc but EN has Ame, Ina, and Mori that have talent and experience at doing that kind of stuff. I remember how suprised the JP girls were that EN was that involved with their channel content.
i mean, multilingual is a plus but gura just doesnt speak japanese beyond a few words lol
Being able to speak Japanese was apparently not that important for EN, considering Gura and Ame have relatively poor Japanese skills. I'm sure being able to speak Japanese helps you make friends with JP easier, though, but I bet it has no bearing on whether you get accepted or not.
holoEN
gen 0: haachama
gen 1: ina, gura, ame, kiara, calli
a pattern has already been established
I’d personally stylise it as “Hololive 2nd gEN” or “Hololive 2gEN”
They might not have gen’s for EN because there isn’t really a “senpai” culture for most of the west. It makes sense that they’d still call all of the JP members senpai because that’s correct and respectful but it might feel odd to have westerners calling the current EN girls senpai when that’s not quite our workplace culture. That’s just a guess though since it’s still a Japanese company so they might have to anyway?
Makes sense, Idol culture isn't big in the rest of the world espeacially the West, so they are looking more for talents that are more suited to that market.
However I think the idol part of JP is more of a marketing tool than anything. Just going by streamers isn't enough and Cover knows this, so they market the idol image as a way to draw more dedicated fans. At the end of the day they are trying to sell waifu streamers and no better way to do that than to present them as idols first.
